The Koine Greek language was another phase of the development of the Greek language which was spread throughout the Middle East by the King of Macedonia, Alexander the Great!

The language became the lingua franca and all citizens who regarded culture as an important aspect of life wanted to speak in the Koine Greek. In fact Koine Greek united the oldest civilizations that flourished in the Middle East! Greek-Australian student at Macquarie University, Emmanuel Roumanos talks to Dimitrios Kametopoulos about the Koine Greek language in the framework of a Colloquium on Friday 19 May 2017 at the Seminar Room, Museum of Ancient Cultures at Macquarie University from 2.00pm-5.00pm. It is free entry and everyone is welcomed. More information at the email of Professor Trevor Evans on trevor.evans@mq.edu.au
