Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten have gone head-to-head in the final televised debate before the May 18 federal election.
At the National Press Club in Canberra, the two men seeking to be Prime Minister went over plenty of talking points, both old and new.
The final televised debate of the 2019 federal election campaign began on the topic of leadership.
Leadership instability is an uncomfortable topic for both parties, given the many leadership spills for the government, in its recent past, and for the opposition, in its last stint in government.
Both Scott Morrison and Bill Shorten agree the days of leadership turmoil have to end, and say their parties have moved to make leadership changes harder to bring about.
