Nikos Pagiotelis, a Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) journalist and volunteer firefighter spoke to SBS Greek about the worst Greek forest fires in a decade that killed more than 20 people and injured many more near Athens on Monday.
Monday's fire, which sent residents and tourists scrambling to safety, was one of several that broke out in the country amid a heat wave, with authorities declaring a state of emergency in the western and eastern parts of Attica.
