On Sunday 23 July, all Macedonians who live in the wide Greek Diaspora are meeting in the Macedonian capital city of Thessaloniki to discuss issues pertaining to their being and their Macedonian identity.
Ms Nina Gatzouli, the Supreme Coordinator of the World Pan-Macedonian Associations spoke to SBS Radios Greek Program stating that even though there is a new elected government in the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) with Zoran Zaev at its head, after the political turmoils of the last few months, she feels that she is not convinced that the new era in this Balkan republics policies mean well.
The Macedonian identity of the millions of northern Greeks is of paramount importance to her and to the World Congress of the Macedonians abroad and its needs to be safeguarded alongside the historical name Macedonia.
Ms Gatzouli spoke to Dimitrios Kametopoulos about this years 12th Macedonian convention as well as the particular topics that will be explored amongst the Macedonian delegates from the USA, Canada, South Africa, Europe and Australia.
