World No 1 Novak Djokovic was disqualified in the U.S. Open 4th round this morning (Australian time) after hitting a line judge with a ball following a point during the first set of his match against Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta.

This is the first time the Serbian player (17 grand slam titles)  has been disqualified in his career. His exit from the tournament means that he will not be able to close the gap with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who have 20 and 19 gran slam titles respectively.
