The fires in New South Whales have claimed the life of a 58year-old man northwest of Kempsie. In Queensland, the authorities have charged a juvenille with starting a fire that has destroyed 14 homes.

NSW Authorities have identified the dead man as Barry Parsons, a 58 year-old person who had gone missing since last Friday.

His remains were discovered in bushland on the southern end of the Kyuna Track at Willawarrin shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

The discovery comes as better weather conditions around the state fail to make a dent on "aggressive fire behaviour".
