The Federation of Community Schools of New South Wales held an important dinner-celebration of the teaching of languages at Community Schools on Saturday 20 May 2017 in Sydney.
The special event included an announcement for a funding boost for the continuation and further consolidation of languages learning at Community Schools level as well as awards given to educators of various languages. Amongst the awardees was Mr Vasilios Gonopoulos, director of the Aristotelis Greek Schools of Sydney who was also a member of the Greek Program of SBS Radio as a journalist in the 1990s especially. Mr Gonopoulos was bestowed an award for his invaluable services to Greek language provision and for this, he speaks to Dimitrios Kametopoulos stating emphatically the importance of the maintenance of languages in the wider Australian community.
