A new report says continuing Australia's offshore immigration detention policy will cost taxpayers a further $1.2 billion over the next three years.


The report by Save the Children, GetUp! and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre breaks down the cost of keeping someone in offshore detention to just over $570,000 per person, per year.
