The federal government has announced a joint deal with the US for asylum seekers on Nauru, prioritising women and children.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull confirmed that the third country resettlement arrangement 'is only available to those currently in the regional processing centres, it will not be available to any persons who seek to reach Australia in the future.
