'Portraits of Pontos: Images from a Bygone Era' exhibition opens in Melbourne

An exhibition about life in Pontos before 1914. A historical photographic representation of the Greek people of Pontos from the Black Sea in Anatolia. 'Return to Anatolia" chairperson Sofia Kotanidis talks to SBS Greek.


The "Return to Anatolia" Committee is comprised of local Armenians, Assyrians, and Greeks who trace their roots to the historical region of Anatolia. The exhibition 'Portraits of Pontos: Images from a Bygone Era' exhibition focuses to educate the wider Australian community about the unique cultures, histories, and identities of the GreeksArmenians, and Assyrians.

The exhibition is at Mill Park Library, 394 Plenty Road, in Melbourne's suburb of Mill Park. The launch is on Sunday, 1st of July, at 2pm.
