Rebetiko band from Greece Pliri Νtaxei for the first time in Australia

Rebetiko afficionados will have the opportunity to binge on rebetiko or "Greek blues", as it is known in Australia, on Saturday March the 10th in Melbourne's Recital Centre. Pliri Νtaxei, an up and coming 4 member band from Greece, will inject some good old pre-war rebetiko to the day's program. Katerina Douka, the band's vocalist, spoke to Dina Gerolymou about their first visit to Australia, their pre war rebetiko songs, their original, published work and her own musical roots in traditional Thracian music.
