While the number of calls to make the nature of the telephone conversation between Scott Morrison and Donald Trump grows, the Prime Minister said that Australia had already agreed to help with the inquiry and that the US president wanted to establish a ‘’point of contact’’.

While the number of calls to make the nature of the telephone conversation between Scott Morrison and Donald Trump grows, the Prime Minister said that Australia had already agreed to help with the inquiry and that the US president wanted to establish a ‘’point of contact’’.


It is unclear what Australia will do should the US request access to former High Commissioner Alexander Downer. Mr. Downer helped start the FBI investigation into the presidential elections of 2016 in the US, after a meeting with former trump campaign advisor, George Papadopoulos. 

Earlier today, Foreign Affairs Minister, Marise Payne said to the ABC ‘’The inquiry is an inquiry under the US system and a matter for them but we will do what we can as far as is appropriate in terms of our national interests’’.
