Shorten promises to tackle indigenous health issues, while Morrison eyes Tasmania

Labor has promised that it will spend $115 million on Indigenous health should it win the upcoming election. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Scott Morrison is set to announce that he will spend $25 million in Tasmania’s Heath Sector.


Speaking from the Northern Territory, Bill Shorten announced that if Labor wins the elections, it will spend $115 million to tackle Indigenous Health issues.

Key among them is suicide rates among younger Indigenous people in rural Australia. Last month, four youths committed suicide in separate incidents, all within a span of 40 hours.

Meanwhile in Tasmania, Scott Morrison is set make his own announcement. Should his Party be reelected, Mr. Morisson plans on spending $25 to support Tasmania’s Health Sector. The funds would bring more doctors, better infrastructure and services for the state’s health sector.
