Silence shrouds the question of relations between Archdiocese and GOCSA after Makarios' visit

Archbishop Makarios in Adelaide Source: supplied/Theodora Maios

Archbishop Makarios left Adelaide on Wednesday having won one more battle of first impressions. Theodora Maios has the details.

It remains unclear if the new archbishop of Australia has made any inroads in mending the turbulent relations between the Archdiocese and the Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia (GOCSA).

Known as 'the schism', Community and Archdiocese remain at odds and their relationship -or lack thereof -  has been dividing Adelaide's Greek community for decades.

Theodora Maios reports that neither the president of GOCSA nor any other member of the Community's Board has been seen in the events attended my Mr Makarios.
