"Body & Soul" is a unique concert consisting of a blend of Greek music ( with its eastern influences) and western music, the latter being enriched by the magical and even haunting (yet so fitting) sound of the Pontic lyra.Matthaios Tsahouridis, undoubtedly one of the world's finest exponent of the Pontic lyra, and his younger brother, Konstantinos, with his unique and versatile tenor voice, have enthralled audiences in Greece, major cities in Europe, Toronto and most recently LA with their mesmerising sounds and performances. The brothers are touring Australia with their eight piece orchestra from 25.11.16 to 3.12.16. The concerts are not to be missed! From traditional songs and music from Pontos and Epiros, to well known Greek songs and classic western compositions , the repertoire is wide and of universal appeal. Matthaios , more than anyone, has demonstrated the richness, sensitivity, universality, and indeed the contemporary place, of the Pontic lyra, in spite of its ancient origins. His artistic interpretation of " hard core" old traditional Pontian songs, has moved even those unfamiliar with them. Konstantinos brings a versatility of voice and beauty to songs performed in Greek, Italian and Spanish, some in operatic style. The chemistry and charisma of the brothers on stage is infectious. The harmony of the sounds and senses, the confluence of such diversity in terms of time, origin, history, experience and genres, combine to produce performances which are truly unique and touch audiences, whether of Greek connection or not. The profits made from the tour will be donated to The Hellenic Initiative for distribution to worthy charities providing crisis relief to the suffering people of Greece.
