Elon Musk announced that Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa will be the passenger for the first-ever private mission to the moon in 2023.


A Japanese billionaire will be the first private passenger to take a trip around the moon on a rocket designed by Elon Musk's company Space-X.

The announcement has provided some rare relief for Mr Musk, whose recent behaviour has reportedly damaged his company's reputation.

Maezawa hopes to bring along up to eight artists with him to inspire creativity based on space voyages. What do you think?

In front of a large crowd in Los Angeles, tech billionare, Elon Musk, has announced SpaceX's first private passenger to take a voyage around the moon.

Yusaku Maezawa will be the first person to make the 382,000 kilometre journey in nearly half a century.

The 42-year-old is not an astronaut - he's the founder of Japan’s largest online clothing retailer, Zozotown.

His billion dollar fortune has brought him an experience, that until now, money could not buy.
