What's in a pebble? A lot, according to Greek authorities on Skiathos island.
Environmentalists are trying to preserve the natural beauty of Lalaria beach in Skiathos. The island, a well known "secret" among tourists, became famous from the Mama Mia movie, is home to unique rock formations.
A campaign to stop tourists from removing the beautiful, smooth, white pebbles from Lalaria beach is under way on Skiathos and they are being encouraged to 'Take a picture, not a pebble'.
