Tasmania has shivered through one of the coldest nights of the year.

It has been another morning of frost settling over Tasmania, with police issuing warnings of black ice on some roads and urging caution.

Several locations across the state's inland recorded sub-zero temperatures overnight, including Butlers Gorge which reached -7 degrees Celsius.
