The atmosphere throughout Australia amongst those who were present at the commemoration events for ANZAC day was a very solemn one as well as a proud one.
In Sydney, the weather was fine and mild before dawn allowing for thousands of people to attend the Cenotaph at Martin Place as well as the ensuing parade. In other Australian cities, it rained but that did not deter citizens to attend the services and the commemoration events.
