The cuisine of the northern Greek region of Macedonia and in particular of Central Macedonia may be recognised as a significant cultural heritage of the world by UNESCO!

The Vice Administrator of the region of Central Macedonia responsible for Agricultural Economy, Mr Theofanis Pappas, speaking to Dimitrios Kametopoulos, informs us of the reasons his Administrative Region has taken this initiative of submitting an application to UNESCO in order to have the cuisine and various products of Macedonia recognised on a world scale. Ms Pappas notifies us of how the Macedonian cuisine, which is almost like a “pot pouri” of various influences with its own standing as well, has a pivotal role in gastronomical events within Greece, the Greek Diaspora as well as to the rest of the world. He invites people to visit Central Macedonia to taste the different types of Macedonian foods, delicacies and other local products.
