The Greeks rank among Australias largest and most visible communities, yet there is a real risk that their history will be forgotten. While good books have been written about milk bars and very early Greek pioneers, very little indeed has been written about the community and its real achievements.

The UNSW, the State Library of NSW and the Greek Community have entered into a major collaboration to establish a Greek Australian Historical Archive which shall document the entire history of the Greek presence in NSW.

This would include the contribution of all organisations and individuals and include oral histories, biographies, photographs and other materials.

More in this interview from Stergos Kastelloriou who talks with Associate Professor Nicholas Doumanis.
