People have always emigrated in search of better working and living conditions according to Dr. Ersie C. Burke who has recently published her new book "The Greeks of Venice, 1498-1600: Immigration, Settlement and Integration". Maria-Stella Papageorgiou spoke to Dr. Burke, who has tutored and lectured in the History Department at Monash University, about her research and the history of Venice's Greek population between 1498-1600.
