The legends of Greece’s 2004 triumph talk to SBS Greek

Fifteen years after their triumph at the Euro 2004, Greek soccer legends, share with us memories of Greece’s finest moment in international football.

It was July 4, 2004, when the National Greek soccer team, which until that magical European Summer had nothing remarkable to proud of, reached the top of European football.

It was just the second appearance of the greek soccer team in the finals of Euro, and the first after 24 years.

It was also the country’s first appearance in a major event, since the painful 1994 World Cup experience.
