The Australian women's national team's journey to the World Cup continues, with the Matildas qualifying for the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Our representative team won 2-0 against Denmark in front of 75,784 spectators at Stadium Australia in Sydney and now awaits today's match between France and Morocco to find out their next opponent.

This is the fourth time the team has qualified for the quarter-finals of a World Cup, compared to the men's team who have never achieved anything similar.

The goals that decided the match were scored by Caitlin Foord and Hayley Raso in the 29th and 70th minute respectively.
