Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says an executive order will be signed by U-S President Donald Trump exempting Australia from steel or aluminium tariffs.
After ongoing discussion between the two nations, both leaders have confirmed the exemption.
Mr Turnbull has thanked President Trump for his decision.
