Third death confirmed in Lismore floods with fears more to come as Warragamba Dam spills

A man and two elderly women have died in Lismore in northern NSW and the Warragamba Dam has overflowed, as Sydney braces for a deluge and flooding.


A third person has been found dead in northern NSW, as Greater Sydney braces for potentially life-threatening flash-flooding, with a "rain bomb" forecast to unleash a deluge northwest of the city.


"This is terrible. This is terrible. One life lost is too many but these are communities that have been impacted, families, loved ones that have been impacted by these losses," NSW Deputy Premier Paul Toole told reporters on Wednesday.
