Thousands ordered to evacuate in NSW amid extreme rains and flooding that will cause chaos

Residents in flood-hit areas of NSW have been told to evacuate their homes overnight as the SES settles in for weeks of rescues and clean-ups.


People in flood-hit areas of NSW have been told to evacuate as flooding in central, mid and north coast of NSW has been declared natural disaster zones by the state and federal governments.

Rain is expected to continue to fall on parts of NSW for several days, with the state's emergency service saying it will be working beyond Easter on the post-flood clean up effort and restoration of key services.
