This year’s Champions League trophy will be an all-English affair after Tottenham, like Liverpool, yesterday made a remarkable comeback, beating Ajax 3-2 ion the Netherlands, and thus progressing to Final where they will fight with the Reds.

Today’s game was a thriller. Ajax, having the 0-1 advantage from the first–leg match, made an ideal start. They were ahead 2-0 at halftime. In the second, Tottenham had to concede no goals on the one hand, and on the other to score three goals. Terribly difficult, however they found the strength to do it.

First they scored in the 55th minute, then they equalized in the 59th  and had the winner at the sixth minute of injury time.

The hero of the game was  Brazilian Lucas, who had a hat-trick for Tottenham.

So, the final on Saturday 1st June, (Sunday, June 2 Australian time) , will be an all-English match between Liverpool and Tottenham.

Europa league tomorrow morning

Tomorrow morning we will also learn the couple in the Europa League final. And here we are likely to have an English “civil war”, as two English teams, Arsenal and Chelsea, have a lead. But, if there is something we certainly learned over the last two days, it is that the ball is round, it turns, and you never  know its tricks. The matches are:

Chelsea-Eindracht Frankfurt

Valencia-Arsenal

Another loss for Melbourne Victory

For the Asian Champions League and the 5th round in the group stage, Melbourne Victory suffered a 4-0 loss last night in Korea by Daegu. The Melbourne team is last in its group and has been eliminated from the next phase.

In Australia tomorrow night begins the series of semifinals for the A-League.

Perth Glory will  Adelaide United and on Sunday evening Sydney FC will host  s Melbourne Victory.

Good start for Tsitsipas in Madrid

In tennis, in the championship of Madrid Stefanos Tsitsipas began victorious. He defeated  2-0 sets Frenchman Andrian Manarino. (6-2 the first and 7-5 the second)
