United States President, Donald Trump, changed his mind about attacking three sites at Iran, as retaliation for the US drone Iran brought down on Thursday. Mr Trump claimed that the reason for his change of heart was because his staff advised him that the attacks would cause the deaths of 150 Iranians, something that he did not agree with.

Mr Trump argued that the US reps once would not have been ''proportionate'' to Iran's actions. He mentioned that should he have given the final approval, things would have gone ''to a point of no return''.

Iran stated that it has collected the debris of the destroyed drone, which it shot down on Thursday, as proof that it was within its airspace.

The US has banned all american airflights from passing over the Straits of Hormuz and other airlines, including Qantas, Emirates and  Etihad are also avoiding the area.
