Victoria records 177 new cases - a slight decrease from past few days

Victorian authorities announced 177 new coronavirus cases overnight, the first time the number of new cases falls below 200 since Thursday.


The state's Chief Medical Officer, Dr Brett Sutton was catiously optimistic, but said he would wait to see how the situation evolves. 

"So I would like to see a week of decreasing numbers before I come and say I have greater confidence about the direction we're going in." he said.
