Victoria records 28 new cases, three deaths as poll shows majority back Daniel Andrews' coronavirus response

A Newspoll shows a majority of Victorians support Premier Daniel Andrews' handling of the second coronavirus outbreak.


Victoria has recorded 28 new cases and three new deaths in the past 24 hours.

The number of new infections rose compared to previous days, where case numbers dropped below 20.

Melbourne's 14-day case average fell to 32.8, well below the target of 50 to lift some virus restrictions from 28 September.

Just 45 cases with an unknown source were recorded in the city in the past fortnight.
