Professor of International Relations, Ilias Kouskouvelis, talks about the results of FYROM referendum.


Both sides have claimed victory in the referendum to change FYROM's name. The vote was an attempt to end the long-debated name with Greece, which has its own region called Macedonia. 

SBS Greek discussed the issue with Ilias Kouskouvelis, Professor of International Relations, Department of International and European Studies, University of Macedonia. Professor Kouskouvelis is the Director of the “International Relations and European Integration Research Laboratory”, and holder of “Thucydides – The Hellenic National Defense General Staff Chair in Strategic Studies”. 

He is currently serving as the Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. From 2006 to 2010, he has served as the University’s Rector.
