During 2017 the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) offered an artist in residence program at the, inviting nine  artists to each spend a week exploring the theme of regeneration whilst being immersed in the research environment.

The artists experienced cutting edge science first hand, took part in experiments and picked the brains of the institute's scientists. They were also allowed to experiment with their art practice and incorporated techniques from the lab into their work.

In turn, they inspired and challenged the scientists with their curious and unique way of viewing their work.

Elena Theodoridi, a greek visual artist is one of the 9 artists who participated in the program.

A unique exhibition showcasing the work of the 9 artists will take place on May 25th at the St Heliers St Gallery, in Abbotsford, Victoria.
