China's infant formula scandal changed Chinese consumers' buying practices.


They didn't trust Chinese-made goods, leading buyers to look overseas for products and contributing to the rise of the Daigou buying agents.

But there are concerns over alleged unethical practices of formula companies, who doctors say are looking to make a quick dollar in the ever-growing Asian market.

China's seemingly insatiable appetite for imported baby formula is often referred to as a ' white gold rush'.

Demand for the product spiked after a deadly contamination scandal in 2008.
