There are fears of deaths, and several towns in northern New South Wales have been declared disaster zones, after heavy rain caused by the remnants of ex-tropical cyclone Debbie. Natural disaster assistance will be available for thoe in the Ballina, Byron, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Tweed, and Kyogle regions, with the Wilsons, Richmond, and Tweed rivers peaking.
