Tragic death of Greek-Australian woman in Sydney's south.
Tina Kontozis was allegedly bashed in Bundeena by her partner wielding a cricket bat. According to ABC, it is believed a man armed with a cricket bat has bashed the 51-year-old woman to death and injured a 17-year-old male. The male, is believed to be the son of the couple. Victim Tina Kontozis worked at the local day care centre Goanna Patch Kindergarten. She has also written a book about Bundeena called Shelly and the Rescue Warriors. Police were called to a home in Beachcomber Avenue at about 3.30pm on Sunday after neighbours heard people fighting and someone screaming. Photo: Seven News The alleged offender is Ms Kontozis's 51-year-old partner and on Sunday night he had not yet been apprehended. Police said it's believed he left the premises in a silver-coloured Holden Commodore sedan with NSW registration plates BZ 53 ZO. The picturesque village of Bundeena is surrounded by the Royal National Park and is home to about 2000 people. While there is only one road in and out of the village, police are concerned the alleged offender could escape on foot via the National Park or Bonnie Vale, the largest camp ground in the Park. Members of the local Greek-community who spoke with anonymity, said that Tina Kontozis was a lovely, friendly and quite person. Her parents are said to be from Cyprus and she grew in the suburb of Bexley.
