Yiannis Makridakis is a natural farmer and an author. He was born on the island of Chios and studied mathematics. He founded the Centre of Chiotan studies in 1997. He set up the Aplepistimio of Volissos on Chios, which organises seminars on natural farming and alkaline nutrition. He is an avid anti-consumerism and de-development campaigner. Yiannis Makridakis who is also an activist for refugees spoke to Sotiris Hatzimanolis about his latest book as well as his views on life and social issues.
