Hostilities in the Middle East continue to escalate, the Gaza conflict intensifies with rocket barrages and air strikes with many Israelis and Palestinians killed in the most intensive aerial exchanges for years. SBS Exclusive interview in Hebrew with Israel’s ambassador to Australia Jonathan Peled.

A state of emergency was declared in the city of Lod whose mayor said that the widespread of violent rioting by Arab mob is a civil war, as synagogues, cars and shops burnt.

In our interview we asked him about the current hostilities and if it will turn into a full-scale war. It seems that this time Israel is fighting in an additional different front, something that had never happened before.

Arab unrest also spilled on to the streets of Jaffa Ramla, Acre (Akko) and many other cities. It is not a secret that the police had lost control over the riots. Find out from the Ambassador, why now and if Israel is heading to a civil war.
