Abby Stein's journey, a transgender woman, raised in a Chassidic ultra-Orthodox community in NY. English Interview

Abby Stein and Nitza Lowenstein
Source: SBS

At opening of the 25th World Jewish LGBT+ Congress last week, I met a very special lady, Abby Stein. Abby is the first openly transgender woman raised in a Chassidic ultra-Orthodox community in NY. Abby told me about her journey from a Chassidic boy who was married at 18 like everyone else in that community had a child but left the community. First became secular and then came out of the closet. I will bring Abby’s interview to you this week in English.
