Don't miss our weekly Yiddish report: The Australian Jewish Community and Holocaust survivors and descendants expressed concern and disappointment regarding the new Polish laws which would punish anybody using the term Polish Concentration Camps or claiming that the Polish Nation collaborated in the Holocaust. The by-election for the closely contested, left-leaning, long-time Labor held Melbourne seat of Batman, have raised questions over the Greens Party candidates support for the anti-Israel BDS boycott campaign, following the suggestion by the Liberal Party, that they may stand a candidate to try to partially counter the Greens candidate, if it emerges that she is pro the BDS. The Premier of Victoria Daniel Andrews and State Governor Linda Dessau, greeted the Israeli President of the Israel - Australia Chamber of Commerce Ido Nehushtan and his wife Orna, at the Australian organisations equivalent meeting at Government House, and praised the warm and close relationships between the two organisations and states, especially in the field of bi-medicine, trade and technology.
