The question whether Australian Jewish Parliamentarians status under section 44 of the Constitution was under doubt because of Israels law of Jews right of return, was dismissed by citizenship experts who agreed that the Israeli law only gives the right to apply for citizenship of Israel.The debate over the postal plebiscite on equal marriage rights in Australia did not bypass the Jewish community, with the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of Victoria urging a NO vote and the Reform-Liberal movements urging as YES vote on the issue.The launch of a new conservative Jewish group, the Australian Jewish Association (AJA) will take place in another venue and not in the Jewish Community Centre, which they booked 7 months ago, because the Zionist Council of Victoria who run the venue, considered the theme of the AJAs launch: The Threat of Islam to Jews, as one that appears to foment fear and hatred.
