A court in Israel has, because of mental illness symptoms, again postponed for 6 months the extradition of Malka Leifer to Victoria, where she is facing 74 charges of sexual abuse against the female students of the Adass Israel School in Melbourne, where she was principal, until she ran away to Israel, when the accusations against her surfaced in 2008. More than 400 people, including parliamentarians, foreign diplomats, Jewish and local government councillors, attended the commemoration of the Holocaust Remembrance Day on the 29th January 2018 at the Glen-Eira Town Hall, during which the director of the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, Dr Brendan Nelson talked about the recently opened Holocaust permanent exhibition at the memorial and the 96 year old Moishe Fiszman, survivor of several concentration camps, recalled his terrible experiences and loss. A permanent exhibition of the history and development of Human Rights, believed to be the first of this kind in Australia, has been unveiled at the Sydney Jewish Museum, following a major renovation at the museum and Holocaust centre.
