The One Nation Party leader Pauline Hanson and her colleague Senator Malcolm Roberts have cancelled a community meeting organized by the small, rightwing Australian Independent Jewish Council in Melbourne, citing concerns over security, following strong opposition to the meeting by Jewish community groups and roof Jewish organizations the ECAJ and JCCV.The Royal Commission on the Institutional Response to Child Sexual Abuse, has tabled its report to Parliament, in which is included criticism of the Yeshiva Centres in Melbourne and Sydney, over their leaderships dealings with victims of abuse in the centres.Justice James Edelman, 42, from Perth has been appointed the youngest ever Justice of the High Court of Australia, making him also only the second Jew to serve there, following the illustrious High Court Chief Justice Sir Isaac Isaacs, who also went on to become the first Australian born Governor General of Australia.Australian Jews have been requested to donate generously to various organizations appeals to help the victims of the terrible fires in Israel, which resulted in the destruction of some 400 homes and damage to some 2,000 others, as well as the burning of forests and vital infrastructure in Israel.Anton Block, 44, of Melbourne has been elected as the next President of the Executive Council of Australian Jews and will take over the 3 year rotating position from Sydneys Robert Goot.
