Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull and his wife Lucy warmly welcomed the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sarah upon their arrival in Sydney, where both praised the great friendship between the two countries and later met with businessman and the Sydney Jewish community.The Labor Opposition leader Bill Shorten also referred to the historic close friendship between his party and Israel and reaffirmed his partys commitment to a two state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.Two former Labor Prime Ministers Bob Hawke and Kevin Rudd called for Australia to immediately recognize a Palestinian State, whilst hundreds of demonstrators gathered with Palestinian flags, pro-Palestine and anti-Israel placards, including images of PM Netanyahu depicted as Adolf Hitler, in front of the Sydney Town Hall on Thursday.PM Malcolm Turnbull announced that he would be participating in the 100th Anniversary of the victorious charge by the ANZAC Light Cavalry at Beersheba, in Israel, in October this year.The JCCV is holding a number of events in support of the retention of Sections 18C and 18D of the Racial Discrimination Act, including a debate with reps from both political sides and a statement to the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Act by the leading faith and multicultural groups in Victoria.Anns: The Kadimah presents the wonderful Yiddish songstress Karen Feldman, who returns to the stage in concert with musical maestro Adam Starr and a five-piece band of brass, strings and percussion, for an uplifting performance of her new album Mazl - Journey Through Yiddish Song and much more.
