Don't miss our weekly Yiddish report with Alex Dafner. this week:The Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, told a gathering of Jewish representatives that she might consider the possibility of having an Australian diplomatic presence in West Jerusalem, perhaps in partnership with such a diplomatic representation of another country such as Britain.The Australian national airline QANTAS has signed a long awaited code and other facilities sharing agreement with the Israeli airline EL AL, which is expected to boost tourism and other traffic and offer benefits, such as frequent Flier points and use of lounge facilities, for clients of both airlines.The Jewish, Liberal Party federal MP from NSW, Julian Leeser MP, presented recognition certificates to 12 Aboriginal descendants of members of the Australian Light Horse Brigade, who helped free Beersheva in the famous cavalry charge of 1917, as well as project funding, which will allow the descendants to participate in the commemoration of the charge in Israel on the 31st October 2017.
