Alex Dafner: Vic Jewish Community joined the NSW Jewish Community, supporting the YES vote 8.10.2017

The Jewish Community Council of Victoria joined the Jewish Board of Deputies of NSW in passing a motion supporting the YES vote in the same sex marriage postal plebiscite/survey last Monday. The Jewish Labor Parliamentarian for Melbourne Ports, Michael Danby MP admitted that he used a small amount of tax-payer funds to place two adverts in the Australian Jewish News, accusing the ABCs M-E correspondent Sophie McNeil of anti-Israel bias in reporting on events to do with Israel and the Palestinian conflict, an accusation vehemently rejected by the ABC. The Royal Flying Doctor Service has rejected the speculation that an anti-Israel BDS campaign influenced their decision to halt considerations of a flying training system for their Dubbo based centre to be purchased from the Israeli Elbit company, stating that it had to do with delays in government grants and finding commercial partners. The new Israeli Trade Commissioner for Australia and New Zealand, Shai Zarivatch, praised the strong and growing trade and investment ties between these countries and hopes to build on these to benefit all countries in the future.
