The new Australian Ambassador to Israel, who will replace the current ambassador Dave Sharma has been named by FM Julie Bishop as the distinguished diplomat Chris Cannan who hails from Adelaide and has previously served in various posts in Austria, Philippines, Switzerland and New Guinea.The NSW Labor Parliamentarian Julia Finn has been strongly criticized for her remarks condemning the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, as among other labels, an enemy of peace, statements she made at the demonstration outside Sydneys Town Hall, prior to his visit to Australia earlier this year.Pamphlets denying the Holocaust as propaganda and accusing the new film Denial of being a falsification of the truth about the Holocaust, were distributed at the Melbourne and Monash University Campuses.A new book by the renowned English photographer Harry Borden: Portraits of Holocaust Survivors from around the world, including 28 from Australia, together with each survivors own poignant and moving caption under their portrait, has been launched this week as a lead in to the Yom Hashoah Commemorations this week.Anns: Holocaust Commemorations in Sydney and Melbourne will take place tonight at 7.30PM, at the Clancy Auditorium, UNSW and at the Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University.
