Jewish Australians are among those who have lost homes and are fighting the terrible bush-fires in NSW, Victoria and South Australia, with several of these firefighters reporting on the dire conditions faced by them and the residents facing these conditions in Australia. The Australian Jewish community has reacted strongly to the appeals for help for those suffering and fighting the terrible bush-fires in Australia and the Jewish Federal and State roof organizations the ECAJ, NSWBOD and JCCV are teaming up with community and private charity groups to raise million dollars for the bush-fires appeal. It’s been estimated that more than a billion Australian animals may have perished in the current terrible bush-fires and Jerusalem’s Zoo in Israel has announced it is also raising money to help animals, who were injured or displaced in the bush-fires that have spread across Australia.
