The Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull and Opposition leader Bill Shorten signed condolence books and delivered heartfelt tributes in honor of Shimon Peres eh, in the Australian Parliament.A Pakistani Muslim cleric, Muhammad Raza Saqib Mustafa, who was on a preaching tour in Australia, was sent home by his sponsors after a 2012 film showing him preaching hatred and genocide against Jews was released.Australian Jewish leaders criticized the invitation by the Uni of Adelaide and the Australian Friends of Palestine Assoc., of an anti-Israel academic Prof John Dugard, who has regularly compared Israel with the former Apartheid State of South Africa.Anns: The Kadimah is presenting: 1. The NY Yiddish actor and director Shane Baker in an illustrated talk about the Vilno Troupe and some of its stars, Wed 19th October, in the Kadimah Library, 7 Selwyn St., Elsternwick, and 2. Sholem Aleichem: Not Dead Yet! A Tribute Show to the 100th Yortsayt of the beloved Yiddish Writer, three shows: 8pm Saturday 29 October, 2pm & 7pm Sunday 30 October - at the Phoenix Theatre, Elwood College, 101 Glen Huntly Road, Elwood.The shows, starring renowned New York Yiddish actor and director Shane Baker, feature vignettes from various celebrated Sholem Aleichem stories, songs and monologues with a narration created by Arnold Zable and performed by the ghost of Sholem Aleichem. The shows, co-directed by Shane Baker and Galit Klas, feature a talented local cast and will be in both Yiddish and English, with English surtitles for the parts in Yiddish.
