On the 8th November in the Australian Embassy in Berlin, exactly 79 years after the anti-Jewish Nazi led pogrom in Germany and Austria, known as Kristalnacht, Alfred Turner the grandson of Aboriginal leader William Cooper, handed a representative of the German Government a copy of the protest letter against the pogrom, from the Australian Aboriginal League that his eminent grandfather tried to deliver to the German Embassy in Melbourne in 1938.
